Tall skies and a broad horizon
Winter holidays on Læsø are something truly special. Tall skies, wide horizons, "hygge" together with the family, in front of the fireplace, red noses after a cold trip to the beach, hot chocolate, and time which seems to have slowed down.

En route to World Heritage
Læsø is on UNESCO's tentative list with the island's salt making and seaweed roofs. Spend a couple of days during the winter holidays to gain an understanding of these two big components of Læsø's cultural history - there is plenty to discover for both children and adults.
In the Middle Ages, salt was the most important form of payment, and on Læsø, tax to the church was paid in salt. Visit Læsø Saltsyderi at the border to Rønnerne's unique nature, and step into the past in one of the salt huts.
Læsø is home to the unique houses with roofs made of eelgrass. The building technique is globally unique, and the impressive seaweed roofs can be experiences along the two seaweed house routes.
